Dear Church Family,
Opportunities for a New School Year!
We are really looking forward to this new school year at Crane Chapel! We’ve
had a very good summer, including the chance to interact with thousands of people at our fair booth and a great week of Vacation
Bible School with an average attendance of over 140 (plus over 350 people at our Friday night celebration).
Now we’re looking forward to working
with the kids God brings us in Sunday school, Awana, and youth. I’ll be having confirmation classes for grades 8 and
up on Wednesday nights as part of our teen program.
Our Thursday night worship services have been good this summer. I’ve enjoyed them. We’ll have
our final one on September 2, then on September 16 we’ll begin a new Bible study, working our way through the entire
New Testament during the school year. Whether you are a new believer or a veteran in faith, this is an opportunity to grow
in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Colleen Hoeft is starting something new on Thursday
nights too! In addition to her role as assistant pastor here (teaching adult Sunday school and leading the youth ministry),
Colleen plans to hold Thursday evening services at the South Troy Wesleyan Church this fall. Please pray for her and maybe
drive over to participate sometime. She will begin on September 9.
Probably our greatest opportunity right now is on Sunday mornings. Beginning September 12, we will offer
two worship services. The one
at 9:00 am will have more traditional music, and the one at 10:30 am will have more contemporary music. We are grateful for
Kathy Crosby’s leadership of our worship team for both services.
September 12 is Back to Church Sunday! Come and bring someone with you.
I’ll begin a new series called “Bedrock Beliefs” based on the Apostles’ Creed. We’ll review the foundational truths of the Christian
life and ask God to energize our lives to live out His plan for us.
