Our youth activities promote Biblical values and help build lifelong friendships.
Good day everyone. I hope this letter finds you well. This has been a crazy month for Refuge and also for our local temps. We went from highs in the 80’s to lows in the 20’s and that made things a little difficult to plan outdoor activities but God was good to us and gave us some really nice days to get things done. On October 10th we picked up trash along Highway 218. We did both sides from the airport all the way down to Countryside Auto. That covers approximately 4 miles. It took 12 of us about 2 1/2 hours and 18 large yellow garbage bags later to complete and it would have taken us even longer if it were not for the additional help we got from Sam and Collene Brunton, Charlie Luthe, and Harrison Deputies. We also had a fall retreat at Cedar Springs Camp in Floyd, Iowa over the week of MEA. There was 15 teens and 6 adults. We played games, went canoeing, did some service work with Mark and Theresa Jenkins, and even learned a few things about God and ourselves. April, Dionne, and Jodi did a super awesome job at keeping us all fed. I want to thank everyone who helped out by baking goodies for our trip and for our Wednesday nights. They are greatly appreciated , not to mention, quite tasty! The retreat was fun and I hope everyone had a good time. We acquired a few new faces this last month and if everyone that registered were to show up on a Wednesday night, we would probably have to knock out some walls and add on. But that’s a good problem. And, as for myself, I have finished up another class, only 15 more to go….. and that’s all I got to say about that! And finally, I had a DBMD meeting on the 24th and I guess it looks like I’m not going anywhere! But that’s all I have for now. So in closing, I would like to thank you all for your love and support of our teens and I would like to thank God for allowing us to be a part of what He has planned and I pray He continues to give us direction and guidance, peace and protection so that we can continue to do the work that He has placed before us. We love you all and we thank you. None of this would be possible without your support. Thanks again,
Love and Peace,
Pastor Mike and Refuge
