Pastor’s Piece for August 2025
“Do not neglect the more important things." Luke 11:42
I suppose most of us have picked up a flashlight and turned it on without getting any light. Looking inside, we found the batteries weren't just dead but covered in messy acid that had leaked out and fouled up whatever it touched. The batteries didn't burn out; they died of neglect. The damage may be so bad, the flashlight gets thrown in the trash.
Other things in our lives can suffer damage when they are ignored. Our relationship with God is meant to thrive and deepen through all the seasons of life as we keep in touch with Him. But summers can throw us off balance if our schedules become so topsy-turvy that we slide from one day into the next without taking time to read the Bible or pray. When we neglect regular times of worship and devotions, we can drift off course. Let's keep alert to what matters most in our lives. Let's be intentional about how we live each day, and let's keep following Jesus together!
A profound thank you to everyone who made our Vacation Bible School a fun and meaningful time for kids. Lives were changed! Thanks to everyone who will assist with our fair booth this month as we reach out to our neighbors. We want more people to know and follow Jesus! Thanks to all those who serve at Crane Chapel on Sundays and throughout the week. Doesn't the lawn look terrific? And thanks to the folks who have contributed an extra gift so we can get our parking lot resealed and striped. We are halfway to our goal of $11,550. God does good things when His people work together!
I hope to see you soon for Sunday worship at 8:30 or 10:00 AM. May God totally bless you!
