Pastor’s Piece for September 2026

“God’s gifts of grace come in many forms. Each of you has received a

gift in order to serve others. You should use it faithfully.” 1 Peter 4:10

God made every person for a purpose and He has equipped each of us to reflect something about His character and goodness. He puts a few people in highly visible roles, but not most of us. Sometimes our gifts make an immediate impact, but we also plant seeds that bear fruit later.

Jesus told about a King who gave his servants resources to use in expanding his kingdom. One received ten bars of gold, and another got five; and they both worked diligently to double the amount. But a third man took the one, single gift he was entrusted with and tucked it away for safekeeping. Perhaps he made no effort to invest it because it seemed to have little significance. When the master reviewed the results, he rewarded the two who made good use of their gifts. But he called the third man “wicked and lazy” because he did nothing with what was entrusted to him.

God wants us to realize that we all matter and what He's given us is important. There's a way for anyone to bring God glory and have an impact on others if we intentionally live to please Him. None of us is unimportant and our church isn't too small to matter. The Lord will reward all who are faithful.

The new school year brings a fresh start to many of our ministries. Let's all make a renewed effort to cultivate a closer walk with the Lord Jesus and be part of what He's doing around us. Let's grow and serve together as the church He's called us to be. I'll be watching for you Sunday at 8:30 or 10:00 AM. God bless you as you follow Jesus.
