Pastor’s Piece for August 2026
“I will sing praise to the LORD.
He has been so good to me.” Psalm 13:6
Will Rogers would sometimes get tired of the same old surroundings and contemplate moving somewhere more exciting. But first he would subscribe to a newspaper from the potential destination. Each time he decided not to move since the news from the proposed place was no better than his current home. It shows that contentment arises more from our inward disposition than from our physical location. We could spend our entire lifetime missing out on the blessings God has already put within our reach.
In worship this month we're taking a fresh look at Psalm 23 where David showed gratitude for God's goodness in meeting all his needs. When he wrote, “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want”, He declared his confidence in God's faithfulness and revealed a conscious decision to depend on the LORD for his future needs. We can do the same.
July was a good month at Crane Chapel. We're grateful to everyone who made our Vacation Bible School a fun and meaningful experience for kids. Lives were changed! We look forward to how God will use those who assist at our fair booth in August as we reach out to neighbors. We want more people to know and follow Jesus!
We thank God for everyone who serves at Crane Chapel on Sundays and throughout the week. Our lawn crew sure is doing professional work! Thanks to all who faithfully give money too. A year ago we received gifts to get our parking lot resurfaced; and now the work was recently completed. It looks fantastic! People who drive by can see that this place is loved and important to us. God does good things when His people work together! Let's keep following Jesus! See you Sunday!
